Unit 1 Identity

We started the term with the Unit 'Identity' this was convenient as this gave us the opportunity to get to know and respect each other.  First day! The first ever lesson we had with Rob we done a exercise called getting 'disciplined' where my teacher would call out a action and we'd follow it.This was followed by a humorous exercise where we'd write out our names with our bottoms. I think this game gave us confidence as it was such a silly and weird thing to do but everyone had to do it. It made me come out of my comfort zone and it showed my creative side. Lastly, we got into pairs and my teacher selected the opening line, 'Excuse me'. Our task was to carry on the line  and make a scene. My partner was Anastasia. We decided our scene was to be about my uncle kicking her dog in the face which escalated to me slamming an imaginary door. Unit 1 Identity Performance Evaluation

Unit 1 The performance I done for the unit 'Identity" was based on racism and discrimination towards immigrants. As a group we chose this because we're we come from is a huge part of our lives. Our upbringing, our cultural background, and where we grew up impacts our daily lives.  For my performance it had three people who came from different countries and just wanted to be accepted into the British society and adapt to the new environment. But sadly in this case the two mean girls didn't want to have them accepted and bullied and judged them on the way the spoke,dressed, and them as people, I played one of the mean girls and my role was to make them feel as dehumanised as possible. In the end, the mean girls said sorry because they realised treating someone that way is not the right way to live life and we should accept anyone despite what they look like, how they dress or the way the speak.
